Dave Engebretson, window designer and manufacturer since 1989, knew there had to be a better, smarter way to let his dogs out of the house while maintaining the security of his home.

His Tacoma, WA area window and door factory has been building patio doors with pet door access since 1999.

“Our pet door slider was highly successful, but customers kept asking, ‘What if I already have a sliding door, is there any way that you can put a pet door in it?’”

In 2004, he took his love for pets and knowledge of the window and door industry, and went to work! Dave created the first in-the-glass pet door panel of its kind. 

The Pet Door Guys remains a family-run manufacturing company with Dave at the helm and his daughter Emily at his side.

Since 2004, The Pet Door Guys have been privileged to serve over a thousand homeowners each year shipping from Washington state to Florida, and everywhere in between.
